What we do

 

Our mission is to provide a full range of housing consultancy services to housing associations, local authorities and voluntary organisations that empowers the organisation to improve its performance, increase its capacity, improve its efficiency and develop its staff.

 

These include interim management, project management, consultancy and troubleshooting services. We're completely flexible and will negotiate individual contracts tailored to your budget, from daily rates for long-term interim management projects to set fees for specific projects. We're confident in our ability to deliver and we are therefore more than willing to enter into the tender process to secure assignments.

 

Consultation assignments can take many forms and may often involve a Smartz consultant entering an organisation to work alongside the chief executive or senior management team, to understand exactly what solution is required.

 

We may talk to employees, board members, sometimes customers, and then produce a report that provides a way forward - a 'route map' ensuring all available solutions/processes/policies have been explored.

 

Troubleshooting: Smartz may investigate all aspects of an organisation so that we can identify the root of the problem and then create positive solutions. Poor performance? Low morale amongst staff? Overspending on budgets? Relations with developers or contractors collapsing? Customer satisfaction levels reducing? We can provide the guidance you need to address these problems.


Project Management: We can plan your project, engage the appropriate and sufficient resources, supervise the work being carried out and produce an end report on the results.

 

Interim management: Smartz can help by running a department or team for a specific period of time. This may be because you are establishing a new team; it may be because you have had difficulty recruiting for the position; it may be that someone is absent on long term sick or maternity leave.

 

We can help improve a team or department's performance. Smartz will run the department/team, taking on the mantle of director with a full remit to manage all aspects of the day-to-day running of the department. We'll produce a business plan for the department in line with your organisation's objectives, a plan of action for the team, review current practice and assess the current capacity of your staff.

 

Smartz will also train and develop your employees, create innovative and motivational solutions for staff, and engage in meaningful dialogue with board members and customers to assess what they want and ensure it is delivered.
